Amtrak's Cardinal at Alexandria,
VA 1-27-2010
The The west bound Cardinal ran with Superliner
equipment 1/27 from Washington to Chicago. The
west bound Cardinal of January 22nd got into Chicago
too late to turn the equipment for the next east
bound run, so it was equipped with Superliners.
This delay was due to a derailment on the Buckingham
Branch RR east of Clifton Forge, VA. This was
a one time event-the Cardinal returned to single
level equipment.
