Join The NRHS in Nashville in 2017!

Update: Online registration is now closed. A limited number of tickets are still available for most events. They will be available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis in the Registration Room in the Nashville Airport Hotel, beginning on Tuesday, June 20th at 3 PM.

Breaking News: At the last minute, the Tennessee Central Railway Museum has offered cab rides in the diesel locomotives over four segments of the Saturday, June 24th rail trip. Limit one person per cab ride segment, and you must also purchase a ticket for the event itself. First segment (60 miles): Depot in Nashville to Carthage Jct. – price: $100. Second segment (30 miles): Carthage Jct. to Cookeville – price: $50. Third segment (30 miles): Cookeville to Carthage Jct. – price: $50. Fourth segment (60 miles): Carthage Jct. to the depot in Nashville – price: $100.

Please Note: there is no rest room or air conditioning in either of the locomotives, and you will not have access to the rest of the train during the cab ride. The following is the dress code: long pants and closed-toed shoes (no sandals or flip-flops) are required. You must be able to climb the ladder into the locomotive. Be aware that the locomotive will be noisy. The E-unit will lead the westbound train, while the Nashville & Eastern freight locomotive will lead the eastbound train.

Cab ride tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning when the Registration Room opens on Friday, June 23rd. Pay by cash, check or credit card. Purchasers will receive a cab ride ticket.

The NRHS 2017 Convention will be held in Nashville, TN. The dates are Turesday, June 20th through Saturday, June 24th.

The Nashville Airport Hotel will be the convention headquarters. The hotel room rate is $129 plus taxes per night for a single or a double room. Attendees must make their reservations by May 21, 2017 and mention you are with the NRHS to get this room rate. This special rate is good for two days prior and two days following the convention.

The phone number for hotel reservations is 844-886-4136. Guests should reference the Nashville Airport Hotel and the National Railway Historical Society. This is through the hotel directly. Guests may get a voicemail (especially if calling in the evening). A reservationist will get back with them, but it may be the next day.

Please note: if you are buying tickets for multiple people in a family through the online site, you must complete one person’s registration and ticket order first before registering and purchasing tickets for the other person/people. On the Checkout page look for the ‘Add Another Person’ link under the ‘Details’ section near the top left.

May 22, 2017 update: Be aware that the hotel is in the process of being made over to a Hilton property from the previous Holiday Inn brand. There is some interior construction being presently done on part of the public area in the courtyard. All restaurants and bars are still in place, and any construction being done will not affect our convention. The re-do of the individual rooms has been completed and they look great.

March 17, 2017 update: Event 2301, Heritage Tour – Hermitage Museum and General Jackson Lunch Cruise. We have added capacity, so the tour is again available on the on-line registration site.

March 9, 2017 update: Event 2102, Double-headed Steam Lunch Train, Premium seating is sold out. No additional room can be added to this event. Check at the registration room during the convention to see if there have been any cancellations.

Event 2402, the Tennessee Central Railway Museum Excursion – Dome class, is sold out. No additional room can be added to this event. Check at the registration room during the convention to see if there have been any cancellations.

There are plenty of coach seats still available for both trips.
