About Our Chapter

Baltimore ChapterThe Baltimore Chapter, NRHS, is an all-volunteer organization. The Chapter operates the Maryland  Rail Heritage Library, the largest of its type in the nation, in conjunction with and located on the second floor of the Baltimore Streetcar Museum. The Chapter publishes a quarterly newsletter, holds monthly business meetings at the Baltimore Streetcar Museum, followed by a variety of programs, has an annual banquet and picnic, and appears at local railroad shows primarily selling surplus books and rail items from the Library. The Baltimore Chapter was founded in 1936, and is a 501(c)3 Educational tax exempt organization. The Chapter celebrated its 80th anniversary in January 2016. Guests are always welcome to attend our meetings and events.  Access to the library for research can be arranged by appointment only by sending an email to the Chapter at: Hello@baltimorenrhs.org.  Non-members who wish to attend a Chapter meeting via Zoom may send a request for access to the Chapter meeting at:  Hello@baltimorenrhs.org.  The Chapter has an active Facebook page which can be found by searching for Baltimore Chapter National Railway Historical Society on FB.
