Winston-Salem
About Our Chapter
The Winston-Salem Chapter NRHS was the first chapter in North Carolina and the 40th in the nation. It was founded in May of 1957 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2007. Today, the primary purpose of the Winston-Salem NRHS is to promote railroad history. Through the meetings, field trips, excursions and sponsoring special events the chapter members are a group of individuals and families dedicated to maintaining railroad history, reliving the past grand events and accomplishments, and, looking into and explaining the many future possibilities in the exciting world of transportation. Visitors are always welcome. You can get more information from an officer or the chapter website.
