NRHS Raritan River New Jersey Chapter

Raritan River

About Our Chapter

The Raritan River Chapter of the NRHS was recently chartered in 2011 to help preserve the history and artifacts of the Raritan River Railroad. Some of the many projects we are working in include pursuing 501(c)3 tax free status and moving and restoring the Raritan River Freight Station in Milltown, N.J. We plan on publishing material related to the history of the line, as well as educating the community and encouraging support for the station, and interest in railroad history. We plan to expand the focus of the chapter to all of the railroads that connected with the Raritan River Railroad, or served the Raritan River area (PRR, CNJ, NY&LB, Camden & Amboy). Lead research to include the local trolley lines (Milltown to South Amboy) as well as the local high speed Interurban line (New Brunswick to Trenton). We are new organization with a passion for history and research. Visitors are always welcome.
