NRHS Old Dominion Virginia Chapter

Old Dominion

About Our Chapter

Old Dominion Virginia ChapterBased in the former Southern Railway depot on Hull St. in Richmond VA, the Old Dominion Chapter is involved in three on-going projects. One is the renovation/operation of our museum at the depot. The former is nearing completion and the transition to the latter is well underway. Members will be serving as hosts in the exhibit areas and operating the gift shop on weekends and possibly at other times. Second is the preservation of large artifacts at our yard. Several rail cars and other equipment are undergoing repair at this time. Finally, the chapter operates eight weekends of excursions (May, October, December Santa Trains) on the Buckingham Branch RR in Dillwyn. In addition to organizing the trips, members serve as car hosts and sell souvenirs and food aboard these trains.
